Family Support & Family/Employers Conferences

Family/Employers conferences are also provided for the client during their treatment.  They have proved very helpful in supporting the family/concerned person in giving them a greater understanding of addiction and recovery.  They have also proved very successful in helping the recovering addict to reconnect with family and concerned persons.

Employer and employee conferences are also available.

To facilitate family contact and re-integration into their own local community in sobriety, residents, where appropriate, spend a weekend every month with family.  This gives them an opportunity to evaluate their home environment and understand what they may need to change to give themselves the opportunity of living life in sobriety.  These weekends can be a real challenge to residents and they afford them the opportunity to explore presenting problems.

Demand for Service

Fellowship House offers a service which is unique.  The service continues to be in constant and increasing demand with referrals coming from all four provinces in the country.  The centre continues to operate a planned admissions policy with an average waiting time of approximately 6 weeks
